The Ride
In this experience I am taking you for a ride at Lake Mutirikwi in Zimbabwe. It is the largest man-made lake in Zimbabwe and 21 different species of fish call this lake their home. Near the end of the ride, I am riding over a 63 meter tall dam wall that was built to create the lake. This dam was built in 1960, in order to create a water reservoir that could be used in times of lesser rainfall for agriculture. To get there I follow a small paved road along the lake, passing by several small villages. In my experience, the people living in the Zimbabwean countryside are very open and friendly. Almost everybody gives me a wave when I pass by. I loved it!
