The Ride
I thought it would be a quick ride to the Nakum Maya ruins in Guatemala. But I could have never foreseen the condition of the trail that led into the jungle. Soon I understood why nobody comes here and I was out here struggling on my own. Every 10 meters or so, the next mudpit would appear and my bike would just sink into the mud immediately. The trick turned out to be to ride at the far edges of each mudpit, to avoid getting stuck. I probably rode twice the actual distance, because of all the swirling around. Add to that the heat, branches, leopard and other wild animals, and a jungle adventure is complete..
