The Ride
There is only one road through Bartang Valley that links up to the Pamir Highway again, and it's this (dirt) road. The track runs right along the Bartang river, and when the river swells because of meltwater from surrounding glaciers, the river expands until it eats the road as well. The water is too deep to ride through on a motorcycle, so the only way is to push it over a narrow trail. Two locals help me get it done!
